The Introduction of My Blog

I would like to use this blog as my platform to let people know about me, my knowledge in Chinese languages (most of articles are written in Chinese), my expertise on Chinese philology, logography, grammatology and linguistics.  The knowledge is greatly acquired through lots of reading as well as the 10-year experience on teaching Chinese to foreigners.

There are lots of foreigners being eager to learn Chinese, mainly the Mandarin and Simplified Chinese characters in the Mainland China Chinese system, due to the increasing importance of China.  On the other hand, as Hong Kong has been an international city in China, there are large groups of local minorities and foreign workers living in this vigorous city.  No matter which the above-mentioned type of people you are, a lot of learners are feeling difficult to learn Chinese language,  especially Chinese characters.  A lot of local non-Chinese students' learning greatly depends on the local teachers at schools.  However, their fluency in Chinese, as well as the requirement on the academics is far from the general standard regarding the language of Chinese.  Don't be surprised on that.  The Chinese standard of local Chinese students, as well as the teachers at local schools are also far below the relevant parties in Taiwan and China.  You would wonder how it can happen.  It is because the local syllabus is poorly developed, and the fundamental skills required to be learned in Chinese are missing in the learning process.  The worst of it is learning Chinese is examination-oriented. 

The blog here is to teach the fundamentals, especially on logography and philology.  Hope each learners can benefit from it.
